Introducing BMW’s First Plug-In Hybrid Sports Activity Vehicle: The X5 xDrive40e

Innovation is at the core of the BMW brand. Here at BMW of Freehold we take pride in showing our customers what the future of driving will look and feel like. BMW recently took a bold step into the future by introducing its first plug-in hybrid Sports Activity Vehicle: the X5 xDrive40e

In the past, in order for drivers to enjoy a powerful car, they also had to have one with low efficiency. The new X5 xDrive40e has completely reversed that concept by utilizing groundbreaking technologies from BMW i models and many others. This model runs a 2.0L TwinPower Turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a lithium-ion battery-powered electric motor, which generates roughly 308 horsepower and 332 pounds-feet of torque. That’s zero to 60 mph in less than seven seconds! The models’ xDrive system further improves driving dynamics, stability and control.

Despite such incredible performance, this plug-in hybrid model is expected to receive somewhere around 55 MPGe.* It will also offer all the perks we love about modern plug-in hybrids, such as an emissions-free electric driving mode.

It’s an exciting time for luxury drivers. If you want to enjoy the cutting edge of driving efficiency, technologies and power, then contact us at BMW of Freehold and talk to our knowledgeable staff today.
