Presently, the BMW i Remote app allows smartphone users to monitor numerous functions of BMW i models. For example, users can check charge status, change heat and air conditioning settings and even beep the horn. Provided it is linked to an iPhone via Bluetooth, these same features will be able to be accessed on the Apple Watch.
The convenient placement of the smartwatch around a user’s wrist provides an easy way to access the i Remote app’s features without removing a smartphone from their pocket. This convenience extends to the i Remote app’s intermodal route planning. Using the i3’s onboard technology, the app can direct navigation guidelines to the Apple Watch, allowing users to continue accessing directions to their final destination even after the car is parked. Additionally, this feature can be used to direct users back to their vehicle after leaving the destination.
