The much-awaited BMW 2 Series Convertible will finally be available in the United States in early 2015 as convertible versions of the BMW 228i and M235i Coupe. The vehicles first debuted at the Paris Motor Show in October 2014 and will appear later at the 2014 Los Angeles International Auto Show. The BMW 2 Series Convertible combines the style and dynamic driving character of the 2 Series Coupe with the added element of open-air driving with a folding soft-top.
Both convertibles look aesthetically similar to their coupe counterparts, except that they boast an electronically folding soft top. The soft top looks very sleek when tucked away, but can open or close in 20 seconds at speeds of up to 30 miles an hour. The soundproof insulated roof is available in multiple colors, including Black, Anthracite and Brown.
The 2015 BMW 2 Series Convertible will be offered at a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $38,850 for the 228i, $40,650 for the 228i xDrive, featuring BMW’s intelligent all-wheel drive system, and $48,650 for the M235i (all prices including $950 destination and handling).
